Carroll's Journal #6 (The War)

So, I go to Taco Bell for dinner. I stand there and give my order as the girl smiles at me and winks. It’s okay, I know her. I like going to Taco Bell. The people there love me. They stuff my orders full to where the dough can barely keep all the ingredients contained. Hell, I have to place my burrito on a plate and eat it, they stuff it so full.

Don’t even get me started on the soft taco Supremes.

I ordered it to go. The plan was to eat it at home. I ordered the usual, beef burrito and soft taco supreme. LOL I'm a creature of habit. I find what i like on a menu and I stick with it 90 percent of the time.

It wasn’t long before I felt the touch of a woman’s hand on my shoulder. Relax, it wasn’t that kind of a touch. She just wanted my attention. It was a female cop. (Agnes) She is about the same age as my mother and the only police officer in my small town that I like and respect. (And trust)

She asked how it was going. I said fine. Then shortly after our pleasantries were exchanged, she broke the news. “The war is over.” She said.

Yes, I could see it in her eyes. After two years of head butting with the local police force over their “bully tactics” - I had finally won.

The manner in which I used was a bit unorthodox, I admit. Nonetheless, it worked. That and the fact that the chief of police now fears me and my apparently, expanding local fame. Come to find out, Agnes and some of the other officers, have read my books. (Both of them) And from what I gather, they are very impressed.

That aside, the troubles I and some of the other citizens have been having with this group of cops was starting to get a bit out of hand. Tempers were near their breaking point. Now it seems, they have been advised by the mayor to back down because he is worried that with my “rising fame” that I could bring some much unwanted attention to the situation. And nobody doing wrong wants attention.

I ended up sitting down at a booth with her and ate my dinner there. Where once again, I discovered that my friends at Taco Bell had done it to me one more time. They gave me two each of what I ordered.

I know Taco Bell isn’t real Mexican food. And I know this because I have been to Mexico before. Once! A short time ago. Right before Christmas. To go see a friend.

Anyhow, I only ate the two soft taco Supremes. Saving the two burritos for tomorrow perhaps. I’ll heat them up and serve them with a side order of rice and open the 20 packs of taco sauce I swiped. LOL I’ll pour that sauce over the rice and have a nice dinner.

So I ended up going to Walmart after that to find a card for a friend however, I couldn’t find one that appealed to me so instead, I bought her a stuffed bunny. I think she’ll like it.

While there, I met a girl. A dark haired beauty. She actually works there. She was stocking shelves and giving me the “How you doing?” stare. Turns out, she knows Brittany. She heard we spit up and so… we talked for about thirty minutes. I left with her number and the request to give her a call. Once I finished shopping, I left the building and started to make my way across the parking lot when somebody called out. It was a blonde haired girl, giggling alongside of her friend.

Two numbers.

All and all, it was a good night.

I think I am starting to like this. I mean, big fish in a very small pond. I have gave out about a dozen autographs in the past two weeks and it seems I have sold quite a few books to the locals here. I had no idea E-readers were that popular, but as one girl told me a few short days ago, she only bought her E-reader so that she could read my books.

How freaking cool is that?

It feels good. It really feels good.

The war ….. Is over.

Wait! … Let me say that again.

The war … is over!!

Let the love begin.
